Temescal Street Garden

The organization and community raised funds and built a 1,000 square foot shared garden on Caltrans land adjacent to Highway 24 and a residential street in Oakland. The project has helped deter illegal dumping and has made a place to grow fruit, vegetables, flowers and other plants.

Creating a Home for Honey Bees

Partnering with Khaled Almaghafi, owner of the local Bee Healthy Honey Shop, the garden added a beehive.

Volunteer Design and Build

Volunteers built the community garden over the course of 3 months, primarily relying on tools from the Oakland Library and donations and materials from Oakland businesses.
